Carbon Trading Highlights Equity Market Career of Jon McKee Queen
When it comes to the emerging carbon trading under the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, Jon McKee Queen can boast of his financial and legal expertise on the matter. Emissions trading and legal advocacy to the Kyoto Protocol are among his specialties in the financial markets which include securities trading, CIS, risk qualifications, and project finance.
Jon McKee Queen sits on a 14-year career dominated by his involvement in projects and positions that called for his ecology advocacies. From 2002 to 2006, right after graduating from law school, he served as an Environmental Lawyer with the law firm Latham and Watkins LLP. Thereafter, from 2006 to 2008, he served at the International Environmental Trading Group as a Senior Vice President in charge of Carbon Credit deal organization. In 2008, he became an official adviser to the National Agency of Ecological Investments in Ukraine when he joined the Anemone Group as the Central and East European Head for its Ukraine office. On the side, he assists Ukraine’s Foundation for the Development of Environmental and Energy Policy, an NGO promoting the local application of the Kyoto Protocol’s Joint Implementation and Clean Development Mechanisms.
Jon McKee Queen graduated from Cornell University with a BS Economics degree in 1997. He then took his Juris Doctorate degree, graduating from the University Of Pennsylvania in 2002 while working as a licensed securities trader for John Hancock Financial Services in Wall Street. Today, he is a Managing Director at the Ukraine-headquartered Jaspen Capital Partners, an investment banking company that covers Eastern and Central Europe
